Background:

Basil's Cathedral (Russian: Собор Василия Блаженного, Sobor Wasilija Blaschennogo) is the symbol of Moscow and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990.

The Cathedral of the Holy Trinity was built as early as 1552. This fabulous church was built in honor of the triumph of Russian troops over Tatars. With the victory of the Russian army came the end of the Moscow-Kazan War. Three years later, the Church of the Holy Trinity was dismantled and St. Basil's Cathedral was erected.

From the outside, the cathedral appears slightly asymmetrical, as it was not built at right angles to Red Square. From the inside, on the other hand, there is almost perfect symmetry.

The building complex consists of nine churches, which are decorated with a golden dome.

The churches stand for the historically significant battles for Kazan.
